Composition in photography isthe intentional arrangement of visual elements—subjects, lighting, and shapes—within the frame to create a compelling, organized, and meaningful image. It is a tool to guide the veiwer, highlighting the main subject in unique ways and adding balance, depth and aesthetic appeal.

There are many key aspects or composition. Placement and framing refers to the position the subject is compared to the overall photo, and the inclusion of other elements to help define the image.

Leading lines is the use of natural or artificial lines to draw the veiwer's attention to the subject. They are usually subtle, but create a pull towards the image.

Symmetry is also important. Sometimes, perfect symmetry is exactly what a photo needs. It involves balance, and creates a sense of order. But sometimes symmetry feels unnatural. The decision of whether or not to center the subject or include symmetrical patterns is one that defines the feeling of a photograph.
